Environment or Development ???
A big pat for Ministry of forest & environment for having a say at last in the development projects.
Mumbai airport - mangroove forest issue, Vedanta alumina in Orissa & now sterlite in tuticorin. These are the big ones which is noticed.
But can MoF take on the state government of TN on the encroachment of swamp lands of Pallikaranai. ELCOT has SEZ on the swamp land, TN government has declared Financial tech city at sholinganallur which is again on the marsh land, University of classical tamil again on marsh land ???
Can Mr.Jairam Ramesh - take this issue ???
Going Green any one can do... But living Green is a challenge. Will you Mr.Jairam ???

Will I own this one day ???
Ferrari - dream machine for any one behind the wheels. Had a sneak view of this mean machine at copenhagen airport last summer. It was out on a raffle draw. Luckiest of the lot would have won this monster !!!
Chennai Auto's - Worst nightmare for any one new to Chennai !!!
Tamil Nadu is the only state where Auto fares are not rationalized. Just check the ones in neighbouring states of Kerala / Karnataka / AP... All are well kept in control by the Government.
But here in TN, fleecing is rampant. If you happen to be an outsider, gone. You have to pledge your hard earnings to city auto wala's who take you for a ride.
Whether it is chennai or coimbatore, scene is same with respect to auto's.
With Madras high court directive, hope to see end of this menace across the state.

Green bashing - a passing thought
Other day i was in a meeting with ernst while secretary of urban development.
Agree with him on the thoughts on town planning that city of Paris is thinking of the city's development 60 years from now.
But where are we ? Do we have any plans for the city development. There is something called Greater Chennai in paper ? But anything on making it livable place ? No answer from any departments.
City's Green space is shrinking day by day. More " Green " buildings are certified which stands in a place of Green land / water body.
Wanted to raise that question in that meeting. But as a usual responsible family man, i had to keep my mouth shut.
On the other day, there was a conference happening at Chennai trade centre, where all the top guns where talking about energy efficiency with Airconditioning system at full throttle. Literally everyone inside were shivering. That is called Indian way of walk the talk.
There is huge difference between what people say and what they are really up to.
Now every alternate day i get a mail about so called Green conventions / Green meetings.
Hey come on. It was with us 30 years ago. We all buried it to support so called western culture. Now we are going back to that, but paying a premium to westerners.
Lets be choosy in selecting what technology we have to adopt. Let us not just go blind behind each & everything we see. Lets use our judgement & decide.

In first place do you need a CWG ? Can we not spend that money to increase the sports infrastructure in villages ?
All the sports federations are headed by some politician or other who does not know abcd of the sports they are concerned with ?
Many questions are to be answered by GoM or PMO on CWG mess ?
(1) Why OC of CWG has been vested with such extraordinary powers ?
(2) Why PMO / GoM or cabinet not stepped in when things were not going as planned one year before ? Why last minute escalations of budget were allowed ?
(3) How the budget allocation for sports be changed when the army / any other project is deprived of such huge budget allocations?
(4) From where the money is going to come to meet out these escalations ?
As a common man we need these answers from the Central govt once CWG is over ?
